KIM CATTRALL TO STAR IN NEW HBO SERIES

According to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, KIM CATTRALL is set to star in another sex themed HBO comedy series set in New York. Her character is a middle aged married woman with a family who rediscovers her sensuality and subsequently begins to question her life choices.

The show is an adaptation of the British series SENSITIVE SKIN which aired on BBC Two for two seasons and starred JOANNA LUMLEY as a well to do exmodel working at an art gallery in London.

Kim will executive produce and Emmy winning SOPRANOS writers MITCHELL BURGESS and ROBIN GREEN are working on scripts.

The show is part of a deal Ms. Cattrall made with HBO when she signed on to do the SEX IN THE CITY movie.

didn’t kim divorce her ex mark levinson of mark levinson/cello audio stuff (god or whomever i wish i could afford gear like that) because he was over sexed ???

anyway do you think you’ll like this ’solo’ series more than satc ???

  2. glim, I don’t pay that much attention to Kim’s personal life, much as I adore her. I know she’s been married three times. She doesn’t generally date or get into long term commitments with people as famous as herself. So I barely know who these guys are.

I don’t think she dumped him because he was oversexed, did she? I know when she had that book out about sex/sensuality she was all ready about 40 (or maybe over?) and she was saying that she never had a real orgasm until she met him. (Or something to that effect.)

If that’s the case, that’s really sad. She’s a beautiful woman and I’m sure never lacked for any kind of male companionship. So if she gets to forty after all of those marriages and lovers and was never properly satisfied, what does that say about relationships and the men out there? Or about the fact that women know relatively little about their own bodies and their own needs?

It’s a two way street. I would not be willing to stay with someone who didn’t care about my…um, pleasure and contentment. I think after various experiences and relationships as a teenager you get to a point where you know what you want, what you need and you can communicate that easily to a partner. That was what happened in my life.

By the time my adolescence was over (in some respects long before that, actually) I was very confident and knew what was important to me. I’m sure that’s a common thing. If someone wasn’t willing to give me what I needed, then I would have been long gone. At 20. So I can’t even imagine being a woman in your 30s and 40s and not getting the assistance you need from your partner.

Why stick around? Guys have to know what they’re doing. Or AT LEAST be willing to learn.

But was her ex husband oversexed? I never heard that, glim. Apparently Kim is going out now with a chef that’s 22 years younger. I’m fine with whatever she does. As long as she’s happy.

Will I like the new show better than S&TC (which I really can’t stand)? Without seeing an episode, I couldn’t tell you. But it does sound promising. The SOPRANOS writers are on the case and they’re brilliant.

So we’ll just have to wait and see…

  3. God, is there anyone any sexier than Kim Cattrall? Thanks for the pic.

  4. Not too many people in my book, Rick.

    You’re very welcome…

well as i remembered there was some truth to the ‘over sexed’ thing.

    snippet from the link thing…

Sadly, fabulous sex was not enough to save Kim’s third marriage and she separated from Mark last year. In a case of life imitating art, the marriage seems to have floundered thanks to her husband’s demands for all this amazing passion – something Samantha would never view as a problem.

But an insider says Mark’s obsession with sex left Kim feeling unloved and she suspected all he cared about was fame and wealth:

a little more google magic digs this up. i would link where this came from/ i don’t if that would seem very overkillish..here…

It was she Kim turned to for support when her third marriage, to musician Mark Levinson, ended two years ago because, according to Kim, of his sexual demands.

  7. Well, this is truly a killer, glim…

Especially when Kim’s been playing Samantha all these years. More proof (as if we needed it) that actors really are playing roles and often have nothing in common with their respective images or the characters that they’re most identified with.

That’s really sad. She had what some women (INCLUDING ME) have been looking for since their teenage years: a man who can actually keep up with them.

When I look back on my previous relationships that was always the stumbling block. Men are all talk. Believe me. I’m MORE than lovely and glamourous enough - and I know what I’m doing. But once the initial passion fades, guys relax into the relationship. They’ll do anything to maintain and preserve it BUT they just don’t want to get all the coloured lights going. Or not often enough to suit me.

If you do get someone that’s on your wavelength, then he always has to be as stubborn, willful and strong minded as you are. So there goes the old roller coaster. Make up. Break up. Kick his ass out the door and he comes running back, promising you the moon sweetly and softly. Lingerie and chocolates in hand. It’s enough to make you put your fist through a plate glass window.

Now sex goddess KIM CATTRALL dumped her husband because he wanted too much action???!!!

GOD DAMN, I should have shot myself years ago…

I would’ve stayed married to someone like that FOREVER.

    Well…

Maybe I’ll meet someone that’s gentle and kind that worships the ground I walk on. That’s also very, VERY interested in making me happy.

    Let’s just say I’m working on it….

  8. glimmer Says:

as always thanks for your additional words/especially in this thread…

    Let’s just say I’m working on it….

    :)

  9. Mmmm…

    I can not tell a lie…

  10. glimmer Says:

way off topic (my speciality. ha ha )

does this page work for you ???

seems like bunch of audio interviews…..

    http://hosokinema.com/interviews.html

the list looks better as you move down the page…

  11. glim, you’re fantastic. THANK YOU SO MUCH for that…

Yeah, it does work amazingly well. There’s a huge variety of audio interviews with some very well known film professionals. Truly awesome…

And they say actors aren’t smart. Hmph…

ALL of the people that I listened to were extraordinarily articulate and very, very sharp. Often much more so than the journalists that were interviewing them.

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY and JAMES McAVOY talked about ATONEMENT. Keira is extremely intelligent. James is funny and very charming.

SIENNA MILLER discussed INTERVIEW, the STEVE BUSCEMI directed feature where he co-stars with her. Sienna’s great fun and very gregarious. But this girl’s made out of steel. She knows what she wants and no one can convince her otherwise.

MARION COTILLARD dished about LA VIE EN ROSE. She’s very detail oriented. Obviously very serious and intense about her work, particularly concerning her preparation for a role.

ALAN ARKIN was at the LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE premiere talking about his career. He’s hysterically funny. There’s no ego to him. All he cares about is the work and having a great collaborative base with other actors and the director when he’s on the set. Lovely guy.

JUDE LAW *heartfelt sigh* went on about SLEUTH. When I finally got around to watching the DVD I had purchased, I sat down and took it all in – and then rewatched it twice more immediately after that. Once for was the MICHAEL CAINE/KENNETH BRANAGH commentary track. The other time was for Jude’s take. So I had heard some of this before.

Jude is brilliant. He has a really well developed intellect and his own kind of artistic sensiblity. He initially was just going to be a producer. But when Ken asked him if he’d like to play Milo Tindle he jumped on board. Fascinating stuff.

I’m most grateful to you, glim. There’s a ton of great stuff on that page if anyone wants to check it out – and of course it won’t be going anywhere.

    So feel free…

    Thanks, honey…
