MARIAH CAREY PLANNING ELABORATE TOUR
FROM PEOPLE Magazine
MARIAH CAREY is prepping for another tour.
“I like elaborate,” Ms. Carey told MTV NEWS of her plans for her upcoming tour to promote her CD E=MC2. “We only do substantial. That’s what my jeweller says. I haven’t gotten the looks in mind yet, but we’re going to figure it out soon enough.”
Ms. Carey also revealed that the tour will likely kick off in late fall. Before that, though, she will appear at FASHION ROCKS on SEPTEMBER 5. She also hopes to attend MTV’S VMAS, where she’d love to finally win.
Nominations for the VMAS have yet to be announced. But Ms. Carey’s fans are campaigning for her online. “I have faith in my fans,” she said. “I believe they will come through for me because they always have.”
As for wedded bliss, “Life is beautiful and things are going well,” Ms. Carey remarked, debunking rumours that her two month marriage to Nick Cannon is on the rocks.

I’ve never seen her live, I bet she’s a certain kind of amazing.
I still think her marriage to Cannon is odd, but as long as she is happy, and that she is learning that the definition of maturity is delayed gratification. If she wants it to work, it will work, and it seems as though she’s doing alright.

Nicky, the girl can sing…
“The definition of maturity is delayed gratification.”
Honey bear, you must be a very old soul. How did you know that? Hell, I haven’t even learned that lesson yet.
I am endlessly impressed with the young man you’re growing up to be, Nicolas Plowman….

I haven’t learnt that lesson either, but I heard it once on “Sex and the City” and it has stuck with me. LOL.
But please still be impressed with me nonetheless

Hah hah.
You kill me, sweetie. But I will ALWAYS be impressed with you.
All of that reminds me of a rather unconventional girlfriend I once had. She insisted that everything essential in life that you needed to know would come from watching The Brady Bunch.
Um, yeah….

As much of a big Mariah fan I am, I guess I’ve never really considered checking her out in concert. Kinda weird – can you like someone’s music but not care to see them live? That doesn’t make sense. And it’s not a question of whether the show would be “good” or “bad”; I just think I enjoy listening to her music more than I do watching her perform it.

No, Danny. I don’t think it’s weird.
Seeing a performer live is a LOT different than sitting in a room and listening to their music. It’s very much like the difference that physical chemistry (or the lack thereof) can bring to any relationship.
Don’t get me wrong. I’ve always been heavily into men and though I find women beautiful I simply don’t get the same charge from them. But there are people and bands that are just physically appealing, fun to watch, flat out theatrical or KILLER live performers.
Frankly, some people don’t sing as well live. So seeing them on stage would be a wash out anyway.
Though I don’t think it’s odd (AT ALL), I am a little dumbfounded as to why you’re lukewarm about seeing MARIAH in person. You told me that you had a crush on her at one time so you definitely find her a physically appealing presence. On stage or otherwise. She definitely has a voice and an amazing range.
So…I dunno. Let’s just chalk it up to personal preference. But it’s not the end of the world.
By any means…

You’re right – I did have a crush on her, so that makes even less sense, haha! Oh well, those days are over so it’s strictly platonic between MC and me. I just like her music. Actually, she was in You Don’t Mess With the Zohan (playing herself) and I was not even excited.

So you dumped MARIAH…?
She’ll be sad to hear that, Danny. Ha ha.
Guess she won’t be cruising the streets of Minneapolis in her limo looking for you if her marriage tanks.
Ahhh, well….

Haha, she missed her chance in the 90’s. Actually I wonder if her tour is even going to come here…

Hah hah. Yeah, I suppose so…
I’ve never seen MARIAH live. But I’m sure she’s been up this way several times.
