This is a very interesting gallery from EW. It’s a first look preview of a lot of the big media events that we all will be anticipating throughout the fall and well into the Christmas season.
This includes brand new pictures from films:
- the BAZ LUHRMANN romantic epic AUSTRALIA (with NICOLE KIDMAN and HUGH JACKMAN)
- HARRY POTTER & THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE (DANIEL RADCLIFFE)
- RIGHTEOUS KILL (AL PACINO, ROBERT DE NIRO)
- THE DUCHESS (KEIRA KNIGHTLEY)
- BURN AFTER READING (GEORGE CLOONEY, FRANCES McDORMAND)
- BROOKLYN’S FINEST (RICHARD GERE and ETHAN HAWKE)
- CITY OF EMBER (BILL MURRAY, SAOIRSE RONAN)
- JIMMY SMITS on the TV show DEXTER

I’ve resisted looking at the gallery, but just that list gets me excited. Weird, isn’t it? No matter WHAT, I can ALWAYS get excited about upcoming movies, even if I’m burned time and time again…

No…
For the HUNDREDTH time, Danny, it’s NOT weird. Sometimes you try to make out like your POV is odd or unpopular – and it’s NOT.
But I know how you feel…
I think it goes like this. IF you’re inclined towards being a regular moviegoer, it’s very easy to become discouraged. Particularly in this climate where a lot of product is essentially made for teenagers that are not especially bright. I mean, it’s not the Golden Age Of Hollywood…and it’s sure as hell not the definng moment of American film, the 1970s.
But you have to put things in perspective. Difficult to do sometimes when you’re right in the middle of it. Often it’s MUCH easier to look back when that time is over and dissect and analyze it properly. You usually need some space for the whole thing to be clear.
But what’s the option? Do you pack it in and never go to the movies again? It’s a possibility. But how’s that going to solve anything?
Lame analogy (I know) but I guess it’s like relationships. You can get really fed up with stuff that is going on in your life. But things can change very fast – and you always have to be open to them.
Life can be a very rough ride. But if you didn’t have hope, would there be anything worth sticking around for?
I’d like to think that some things are worth the bother.
TRULY…
