THE BEGINNING OF THE OLDEST ESTABLISHED REALLY IMPORTANT FILM CLUB…

Approximately a month ago, THE OLDEST ESTABLISHED REALLY IMPORTANT FILM CLUB was devised.
Its official site is here
The utterly fabulous individuals that are driving this particular train are the wondrously erudite MARILYN FERDINAND of FERDY ON FILMS, etc. , the magnificently eloquent JONATHAN LAPPER of CINEMA STYLES and the witty, marvelously droll RICK OLSON of COOSA CREEK CINEMA
This awesome trifecta of graciousness and esteemed cinematic knowledge invited me to be a member. I know a good thing when I see it.
I accepted on the spot.
The way it works is this….
It’s very similar to a book club. A motion picture is selected by a member who reviews it at her/his site. If you want to join in the discussion, it’s imperative to have seen the film if you’re going to have any input that will stick to the wall.
Every month we’ll be having a new host. I am going to announce all of them here so that people can get ready.
I’ve been tentatively pencilled in to host next September. I have some ideas as to what I want to do. But I haven’t formally selected anything as of yet.
Our film club kicks off today.
Our beloved MARILYN has all ready got a substantial discussion going regarding THE TRUE MEANING OF PICTURES, a 2002 documentary directed by JENNIFER BAICHWAL.
It all starts here
