FILM STARS TALK ABOUT THEIR FIRST TIME
Now, now. Get your filthy little minds out of the gutter…
A group of movie personalities spoke to PREMIERE about the very first love scenes they ever did in front of the camera. Apparently, for many of them it was a completely mortifying and embarrassing (if not terror inducing) experience. Not at all erotic. Surely nothing to write home about.
There are anecdotes from SHARON STONE, HUGH GRANT, BRIDGET FONDA, CATHERINE ZETA JONES and MICHELLE WILLIAMS.
Some of the stories are rather interesting. To say the least.
JULIA ROBERTS dishes on kissing Adam Storke in MYSTIC PIZZA.
KATHLEEN TURNER felt enormously honoured to be playing a coveted part like MATTY WALKER in BODY HEAT for her film debut. She obviously had an inkling from reading the script that the film was going to have some rather intense explicit scenes for a mainstream R rated movie. But she didn’t have any idea what director Lawrence Kasdan was going to propose. Due to the subject matter and general content, he felt it was best to start out with something difficult rather than working up to it. He thought that it would be ideal for the barriers to be broken down at the beginning.
So to speak.
That’s how Kathleen ended up spending her very first day on set as a film actor. Mr. Kasdan selected the initial sequence he would be shooting: the sex scene in the boathouse where she and William Hurt are entirely unclothed. She says she drank quite a bit of wine to get through it successfully.
Finally, DIANE LANE lets the cat out of the bag concerning her major love scene in The Cotton Club, which was filmed when she was 18. She had to spend most of the day sitting on RICHARD GERE’S lap.
*sigh* Some girls have all the luck…
