  1. wow..in bruges listed.

in bruges the film the internet forgot. ha ha… ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. You always say you don’t care about awards, my little southern munchkin…

Well, they’re Brits. So of course they could actually appreciate IN BRUGES.

    Just like we do, glimster.

But then again, we actually have taste….

  3. ๐Ÿ™‚

You always say you donโ€™t care about awards.

i guess i don’t care because stuff i like has no chance. so i can’t care too much especially when what’s left has me going arrrgh…

but this year i’m like… whatever. i have such a disinterest. no one/no films to really root for. i’m just sitting back. a lot less nerve racking than last year where i watched certain films because i felt i had to (and even stupider to hope i’d like them) to keep up with things.

if i get asked about something like rev road/i’ll just quote your review… ๐Ÿ™‚

(nope i haven’t seen it. well that and about 4,000 other things/but maybe i will. maybe…)

  4. Honey, it shouldn’t make you feel stupid (AT ALL) to think that there were/are films out there that you would enjoy. You never know how you’ll feel about them until you go.

Hell, if we didn’t have the expectation of pleasure or engagement at the cinema why would we end up there???

    EVER…?

If I get asked about something like RR, I’ll just quote your review.

You are the sweetest guy, my darling. What a lovely thing to say…

But I don’t know if you’d dig RR. It’s well done. But very heavy. That ending just feels like the end of the world as you file out the door.

You know what you should see, glim? You should go to THE WRESTLER.

I bet you’d get a big kick out of that. Practically guaranteed.

  5. ha ah funny ms. m. check it out

this week the houston landmark is showing both the wrestler and rev road.

(and the houston landmark only has 3 screens.)

    http://www.landmarktheatres.com/Market/Houston/Houston_Frameset.htm

i may see the wrestler. since i haven’t been to a big screen in weeks. (that’s what oscar bait does for me. oops! )

and supposely rourke plays the wrestler as sort of a loser type ??? and i feel that’s always something i have to support. ha ha ha…

  6. I’ll have to save something for the review.

    But yeah…

RANDY THE RAM (MICKEY’S character) was a big wrestling star in the 80s. Now he’s reduced to participating at the amateur level. He works at a grocery store weekends to supplement his paltry income. At one point (much to his embarrassment and shame) they force him to do shifts at the deli counter WITH A HAIR NET.

glim, you would just die laughing.

RANDY is actually a really sweet guy under all his macho bravado. But he’s a MAJOR LEAGUE F up. He walked out on his wife years ago and he decides that he wants to get close to his daughter again after a great deal of time apart. He doesn’t do such a good job of that.

He’s almost as clueless about how to deal with his relationships with women.

MICKEY is absolutely heartbreaking. It’s not laugh a minute or anything. But some of it’s funny stuff.

With your sense of humour, I know you could appreciate it, glim.
