VERA WANG LAUNCHES NEW MAKEUP LINE AT KOHL’S

VERA WANG sprinkles everything from wedding gowns to mattresses to eyewear to luggage with her savvy sense of style…and now cosmetics and skin care will be added to the prolific designer’s long list of successes.

KOHL’S – which carries the SIMPLY VERA clothing and accessories collection – has just renewed its license of the franchise and announced plans to expand into the world of beauty with a line of makeup, as well as skin and body care.

This brand new component will be launched by the spring of 2012.

“As part of my incredible partnership with Kohl’s, I will now be able to offer women all over America my own personal regimen for skin care and makeup,” VERA told WWD.

“It is an easy, light, modern and effortless approach to beauty and creativity. Like fashion, makeup is also transformational. I love the artistry of makeup to accentuate, enhance or create a mood for any time of day or occasion.”

While this will be the native New Yorker’s first foray into cosmetics, VERA has already enjoyed mass success with a line of fragrances that have been sold in department stores since 2002.

VERA WANG SIGNATURE and VERA PRINCESS scents are the mainstays of the brand, with spinoffs like ROCK PRINCESS and FLOWER PRINCESS bringing in a younger demographic of fans.

GOSSIP GIRL star LEIGHTON MEESTER has been chosen as the new face of VERA’S next fragrance, which will debut next summer.

Who says a woman can’t have it all?
