  1. dogtooth, of course. the oscar bait killer that’s here to redeem the season.

funny dogtooth’s region 1 release date is well…today. classic…and i only spelled it as classic

oh, sad eyed beautiful you/problems with the award season/ dogtooth can help you *ha ha ha*

yes ms. m. you know i’d get in this thread with this being all i had to say.

and what do you think of hailee steinfeld in the supporting category??? i read at women & hollywood that’s she’s in every scene. how is that supporting??? so she’s the film’s lead actor. what female in grit is supporting???

  2. What do I think of HAILEE STEINFELD in the Supporting category???

Well, on my Awards page she’s supporting as well. Is she a supporting actor in any sense of the word? Not really.

It’s true. She is in every scene. (At least that I can recall.) Technically the film does revolve around her arc.

    However…

My rationale would be similar to the ACADEMY’S. She was absolutely fantastic…and she certainly held her own with experienced expressive performers like JEFF BRIDGES and MATT DAMON. But she’s fourteen and just beginning her career. It’s exceptionally rare that actors that young (even doing great work with a sizable amount of screen time) are ever put in the Lead slot. The only time I can recall that ever happening within the last few decades was to KEISHA CASTLE HUGHES in WHALE RIDER.

This must be an auspicious life changing day for HAILEE. Good for her. She really deserves it. An ACADEMY AWARD is still an ACADEMY AWARD. Doesn’t matter where you end up as long as you’re nominated.

I doubt very much that this will be the only time she goes to the big show.

dogtooth, of course. the oscar bait killer that’s here to redeem the season.

You shouldn’t be so cynical, glimby. Every once in a while the planets align just so and then everything glides in a spectacular fashion.

Miracles do happen. Count on it.
