PARIS FASHION WEEK 2011: LOUIS VUITTON ROCKS THE CATWALK

MARC JACOBS turned his LOUIS VUITTON runway show into a dark and opulent hotel lobby — complete with gilded escalators and French maids — on Wednesday during PARIS FASHION WEEK.

And he even got some VIP guests to check in: strutting down the black lacquer catwalk were NAOMI CAMPBELL and AMBER VALETTA. KATE MOSS closed the show in a black rubberized lace jacket and shorts.

Backstage, MARC explained the concept behind Hotel Vuitton.

“We thought of every aspect of this hotel fantasy – people getting out of elevators with attendants, French maids dusting and serving the guests,” he told reporters.

“I just thought it was a weird, nice but melancholy end to Paris Fashion Week.”

As for the show’s slightly naughty theme — some models were handcuffed to their handbags — the designer said, “We all have our fetish. It’s something that comes from the heart that creates an obsession for something. It’s instinctive. Whether it’s a bag or a shoe, a piece of music or an automobile.”

Guests (EMMA STONE was one of the prominent people in attendance) seemed to dig that edgy decadent vibe.

“It was very sexy,” model NATALIA VODIANOVA told PEOPLE.

“Although it was so much to take this early in the morning!”

  1. We all have our fetish. It’s something that comes from the heart that creates an obsession for something. It’s instinctive. Whether it’s a bag or a shoe, a piece of music or an automobile.

there’s currently nothing for me to be obsessed over. and it’s been like that for years and years and considering how things are i don’t see that changing. i hope everyone else is happy though.

    *rolls eyes*

Although it was so much to take this early in the morning!

no longer a valid excuse. just as much can happen in morning as it can any other time of the day/night.

i wonder if it’s possible to be more receptive to things in the morning. maybe this event wouldn’t have had the same impact on emma if it happened in the seemingly sense dulling night thing. 😉

    anyway..

i suck whether it’s day or night so things are never too early for me. it’s just too early to wake up… 😉

  2. Don’t be sad, glimster.

    *big hug*

It’s no big deal. Life can be hard sometimes. Just find something you enjoy. Try to relax. Keep on going. It will get better.

    I promise.

i suck whether it’s day or night so things are never too early for me. it’s just too early to wake up…

    You don’t suck. I think you’re wonderful.

I’m not jazzed by mornings myself. I avoid them whenever I can…
