THE ELEMENTS OF BEAUTY (2011)

It’s time for my annual riff on PEOPLE’S MOST BEAUTIFUL LIST.

  1. since you threw up the batsignal, i guess i’ll reply to keep that gag alive.

these lists make no sense to me…and even the idea of them circa now. just makes no sense. i’m sure it sells and people seem interested. i just don’t care.

    but hey i’m not hot/beautiful.

really, it seems this beautiful thing is just a mask to keep things as lame as possible culture wise. to get us sedated and to keep us from even dreaming. just as long as we have hot people it’s like we don’t need anything else.

i want something else. i want a lot.

i’ll stick with having nothing and further being out of sync with everything than just follow this hot mania.

also notice in that pic with Leighton she has a cellphone…and is that coffee??? i don’t get – or have an interest in – either of those.

    (i hate phones.)

i’m not as wowed by hot and i hate phones. they’re gonna lock me away soon. i’m not even even human. but i’m supposed to just let this/it go.

it’ll be ok as the disappointments in art/life mount. as long as i get hot people to look at.

hmm no. guess i’ll stick with being a loser.

hell, i can see people just as hot/beautiful just walking around. give me more hollywood. give me more media.

and maybe a few whomever on this list have something cool i can latch on to personality wise. but i’m sort of doubting it.

and that’s not beautiful to me…

and i don’t care to rhyme any more because i’ve been seen as a geek made a topical bore…

  2. glimster, I’m sure that you’re very hot in your own way.

Scorching hot. Tremendously hot. God damn hot.

And you’re definitely not a loser. I don’t know how many times I’ve told you that. Confidence, honey. You have so much going for you. That’s all you really need.

    Anyway…

The beautiful/sexy/distracting/hot thing is nothing new. The entertainment industry in all of its forms (acting, music, modelling etc.) has always attracted good looking people. That’s what the public is interested in seeing.

    Everyone likes a little glamour.

Should there be more substance? Absolutely. But the personalities I’ve listed have accomplished a lot in terms of their careers. They’re much more than simply pretty faces…and I think they’ve all worked very hard to get where they are.

i want something else. i want a lot.

    Nothing remotely wrong with that.

also notice in that pic with Leighton she has a cellphone…and is that coffee???

It certainly looks like Ms. Meester’s holding a coffee. I know how you feel about LEIGHTON. Surely you won’t begrudge her that.

As always, you bring up some interesting points that hit the bullseye. Thanks for that, honey.

I don’t know what I’d do without you.

  3. also notice in that pic with Leighton she has a cellphone…and is that coffee???

    hmm…

to clarify which will sound like i’m further whining. she has a cellphone and coffee. this is further proof of how out it/out of sync i am with things…

do you realize the insanity of speaking to a female when you don’t like cellphones or coffee???

on the floor. pushing the chair back with laughter…

  4. do you realize the insanity of speaking to a female when you don’t like cellphones or coffee???

I’m sure LEIGHTON would love to converse with you if she had a chance. She’s a very cool girl. You could have a fabulous chat with her. She would enjoy that immensely.

As for the women in Houston…

You don’t have anything to worry about, glimster. Just take a deep breath, relax and let the magic happen.

It’s all about confidence, baby. That can not be underestimated. Not at all.

You’ve got everything you’ll ever need, glim. The girl that you’ve longed for is waiting for you.

    Go out and get her…
